Living the Dream with Eric Gies

Eric left Pennsylvania when he was 19 and went to surf in southern California. Music was in his bones as a singer/songwriter and guitar/bass player. We cover those early years, his first gardening/music stint in Columbia, MO, his creative business sense in Santa Cruz, and back to COMO.
This beautiful man has seized the days as they have come along. His band during his 20s opened for Alice Walker, The Grateful Dead, and many others. He and his wife Diane raised two kids as they went back to the land south of Columbia, Missouri and then made a big shift back to Santa Cruz where they both began working for a supplement company. Eric retired from there 26 years later. He lost Diane to cancer and moved back to the Columbia area. Now he and his wife Marnie, an old family friend, live south of Cooper's Landing. He's still gardening and doing some music. They're building their 1-level retirement home and looking forward to many more years of living close to the land.
