Respecting & Valuing Women with Elizabeth Eichenberger

The show starts on the subject of homelessness in Columbia and quickly shifts to focus on homeless women and then women suffering from domestic and sexual violence. Services like True North of Columbia dot the landscape of the state and country. Why is there such a need?
Elizabeth, the Executive Director of True North of Columbia, provides perspective on women surviving domestic and sexual abuse and the countless ways our society promotes attitudes that degrade and devalue them. From Puerto Rico, Elizabeth's major in college was anthropology, chosen to help explain historically and culturally why men are so violent and demeaning toward women. The world still requires women to work, provide food, and raise children with little or no pay. Schools do little to change the story. It's time for big change.
